Cobra Rods are a safe borate, approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Being made of a unique blend of Boron and Copper Hydroxide, Cobra Rods are safe to handle and effective as a wood preservative, fungicide, and insecticide. With the addition of Copper Hydroxide, this provides extended protection from fungi species that are unaffected by borates. After inserted, seal the Cobra Rod with accompanying plastic plug or a sealant such as Energy Seal. Cobra Rods dissolve over time to saturate the wood and eliminate active fungi and helps prevent rot for 8 to 10 years. A typical six-to-eight-inch round log will require two 2” long Cobra Rods inserted around 4 inches from the butt end.
