How To Install Backer Rod

  1. Clean the gap or joint thoroughly, removing any dirt, debris, or old sealant.
  2. Choose the right size of backer rod for the gap or joint, making sure it fits snugly but not too tight.
  3. Insert the Round Backer Rod into the gap or joint, using a blunt tool or your fingers to push it in evenly.
  4. Check that the Round Backer Rod is inset from the surface. Adjust the length if needed.
  5. Apply the sealant or caulking over the backer rod
  6. Smooth and shape the sealant or caulking with a wet finger or a caulking tool, removing any excess or air pockets.
  7. Let the sealant or caulking dry and cure according to the manufacturer's instructions.
