How To Install Backer Rod
- Clean the gap or joint thoroughly, removing any dirt, debris, or old sealant.
- Choose the right size of backer rod for the gap or joint, making sure it fits snugly but not too tight.
- Insert the Round Backer Rod into the gap or joint, using a blunt tool or your fingers to push it in evenly.
- Check that the Round Backer Rod is inset from the surface. Adjust the length if needed.
- Apply the sealant or caulking over the backer rod
- Smooth and shape the sealant or caulking with a wet finger or a caulking tool, removing any excess or air pockets.
- Let the sealant or caulking dry and cure according to the manufacturer's instructions.
